Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2019 Dodge Challenger?
The NHTSA has 28 recall records related to Dodge Challenger models that apply to the 2019 Dodge Challenger, covering airbags, alternators, cruise control, transmission, and software issues. Key affected systems include cruise control and transmission control modules that may prevent cruise disengagement, air bag inflator risks, alternator failure, instrument cluster illumination, and tire/wheel incompatibility. These records are published by the NHTSA; Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram monitors NHTSA bulletins and can confirm your car's applicable recalls.
How do I check if my 2019 Dodge Challenger has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring the vehicle to a dealer and we will check for free. Call our service team or use our online VIN check when you schedule service at Kahlo CDJR in Noblesville, IN. We’ll also advise on next steps and available service specials or service financing so you can get repair work done now and pay later.
How much does a 2019 Dodge Challenger recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the owner when performed at an authorized dealer. Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram provides free OEM recall repairs using factory-trained technicians and genuine parts for all NHTSA-identified recalls affecting your 2019 Dodge Challenger. If additional non-recall repairs are needed, we’ll provide an estimate and explain available service specials and financing options.
Can I get my 2019 Dodge Challenger recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs should be done at a certified franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts, factory software updates, and documented repair records. Independent shops may not have manufacturer software, PCM/TCM flashes, or authorized parts required for many Chrysler/FCA recall remedies like PCM updates or alternator replacement. Schedule a free check and appointment with our factory-trained team by clicking to schedule service; Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is your local certified Dodge recall service near Noblesville, IN.
How long does a 2019 Dodge Challenger recall repair take?
Most software updates and inspections take between 30 minutes and a few hours; parts replacements may take longer depending on parts availability. Examples: a cruise-control PCM flash is usually quick, while alternator or air bag inflator replacements can take longer if parts must be ordered. When you schedule appointment, we’ll provide an estimated turnaround and offer convenient amenities while you wait.
Does an open recall affect my 2019 Dodge Challenger's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in and resale value because buyers and dealers often verify open recalls before purchase. Having recalls repaired through an authorized dealer like Kahlo CDJR documents proper fixes with OEM parts, which protects value and buyer confidence. To start a trade appraisal after recall repairs, visit our trade-in page or ask our service advisors when you schedule service.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2019 Dodge Challenger recall?
Some states or safety inspections may consider certain recall issues when evaluating roadworthiness, so unresolved safety recalls can cause problems with inspections. Items that affect airbags, transmission park function, or tire/wheel safety are especially important; Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram can verify and complete required recall repairs free of charge. Contact our service department to confirm if a specific recall could affect your state inspection and to schedule service.
