8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2014 Jeep Patriot?
The NHTSA has issued 5 recalls affecting the 2014 Jeep Patriot covering steering, air bag systems, and engine components. These recalls include one steering recall (possible misinstalled power steering hose clamp), two air bag/OCR recalls (OCR module short circuit risk), and two engine recalls (balance shaft debris and intermittent crank/cam sensor failures). All corrective actions are performed free of charge by dealers under the manufacturer campaigns noted in NHTSA records.
How do I check if my 2014 Jeep Patriot has an open recall?
You can check recalls by VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to our service team for a free VIN recall check. Call or visit Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Noblesville or use our online tools and we will verify open recalls at no charge and explain next steps. If you prefer to act immediately you can schedule service and we will confirm recall status when you arrive.
How much does a 2014 Jeep Patriot recall repair cost?

Repairs such as repositioning a power steering hose clamp, replacing the Occupant Restraint Control (OCR) module, or replacing an engine balance shaft module are covered and performed free by Chrysler-authorized dealers. If you need service beyond a recall, ask about our current service specials and available service financing so you can get repairs now and pay later.
Can I get my 2014 Jeep Patriot recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and factory procedures are used; we strongly recommend visiting a certified franchise dealer like Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Authorized dealers use factory-trained technicians and OEM diagnostic tools required by the manufacturer to ensure the repair is done correctly and documented with the NHTSA. If you want to confirm or schedule service, our team in Noblesville will explain the dealer-only benefits and complete the remedy free of charge.
How long does a 2014 Jeep Patriot recall repair take?
Most recall repairs for the 2014 Jeep Patriot take anywhere from under an hour to a few hours depending on parts availability and the recall type. Engine-related remedies or module replacements may take longer; our service advisors will give an accurate estimate when you schedule appointment or when you arrive for your free VIN check. We recommend checking our service specials and calling ahead so we can minimize your wait and arrange loaner options if needed.
Does an open recall affect my 2014 Jeep Patriot's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce resale and trade-in value because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records before a purchase. Having recall repairs completed and documented at Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram protects your value and gives buyers confidence that required safety work was performed by a factory-authorized dealer. To protect value now, consider a no-cost recall repair before selling or trading; you can start by visiting our trade-in appraisal page at sell-your-car-online.htm and schedule service to clear open recalls.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2014 Jeep Patriot recall?
State inspection rules vary, but critical safety defects from recalls — like disabled airbags or engine stalling — can lead to failed inspections or safety citations in some jurisdictions. Because recalls can affect safety systems, we recommend having open recalls remedied promptly at a certified dealer to avoid inspection issues and reduce liability. Schedule service through our online scheduler to have your 2014 Jeep Patriot inspected and repaired free under the recall program: schedule service.
