Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2015 Jeep Patriot?
The NHTSA has issued five recall campaigns affecting the 2015 Jeep Patriot: one steering recall, two air bag (OCR) recalls, and two engine-related recalls (NHTSA campaigns R68, S61, N52 and S89 are referenced by Chrysler/FCA). Steering: a misinstalled power steering hose clamp can allow the low-pressure return hose to detach and leak fluid, increasing fire risk (campaign R68). Air bag: the Occupant Restraint Control (OCR) module may short circuit and prevent frontal and side air bag and pretensioner deployment (campaign S61). Engine: some 2.4L engines experienced balance shaft bearing debris leading to oil pressure loss and possible stall (campaign N52); other production runs had intermittent crankshaft/camshaft sensor failures that can cause engine stall (campaign S89).
How do I check if my 2015 Jeep Patriot has an open recall?
You can check your vehicle's recall status immediately by using your VIN at NHTSA.gov or by contacting our service team at Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Bring your VIN to our service lane and we will perform a free recall check and advise you on any open campaigns. If you confirm an open recall, we encourage you to schedule service with our factory-trained technicians so repairs are completed at no cost to you.
How much does a 2015 Jeep Patriot recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2015 Jeep Patriot are provided free of charge at authorized dealers, including parts and labor. At Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram we perform recall repairs using OEM parts and factory diagnostic tools at no cost under the manufacturer campaign. If you need additional non-recall work, ask about our service specials service specials and financing options so you can get service now and pay later.
Can I get my 2015 Jeep Patriot recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts, correct programming, and a documented manufacturer remedy; Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is an authorized Chrysler dealer in Noblesville, IN. Independent shops cannot perform official manufacturer recall remedies that require updated modules, reprogramming, or campaign-specific parts tracked by the OEM. For official, documented completion of recall work and to protect warranty and resale value, please schedule appointment with our certified technicians.
How long does a 2015 Jeep Patriot recall repair take?
Most recall repairs for the 2015 Jeep Patriot range from a short inspection to a few hours, depending on the campaign and parts availability. For example, the steering clamp inspection and repositioning (R68) is typically a quick in-bay procedure, while OCR module replacement (S61) depends on parts availability and may require a longer appointment. To minimize wait time, schedule service online and ask about current estimated turnaround and any available loaner or shuttle options.
Does an open recall affect my 2015 Jeep Patriot's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in and resale value because many buyers and dealers verify recall status before purchase. Completing recall repairs at Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram restores the vehicle's safety status and provides documented manufacturer service records that protect resale value; start a trade appraisal at our trade-in page. Taking care of recalls promptly also avoids insurance or inspection complications at sale time and demonstrates responsible ownership to prospective buyers.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2015 Jeep Patriot recall?
Some states or inspection processes may consider inoperative safety systems (like air bags) as a basis for a failed inspection; an open safety recall that disables air bags could be flagged. Because the 2015 Jeep Patriot has OCR-related recalls affecting air bag deployment (S61), it is important to have open safety campaigns repaired to avoid inspection or registration issues. If you're concerned about inspections in Noblesville or the greater Indianapolis area, contact Kahlo CDJR and schedule service — we also offer service financing options.
