Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2017 Jeep Patriot?
The NHTSA records show five recalls relevant to the 2017 Jeep Patriot covering steering, air bag systems, and engine components. Steering: a power steering hose clamp can be misinstalled and allow the low-pressure return hose to detach, risking fluid leaks and fire. Air bag: the Occupant Restraint Control (OCR) module can short and prevent frontal and side airbags and pretensioners from deploying. Engine: separate campaigns address abrasive debris in balance shaft bearings (possible oil pressure loss and stall) and an intermittent crank/cam sensor that can cause engine stall.
How do I check if my 2017 Jeep Patriot has an open recall?
You can verify open recalls with your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to a dealer and we will check free of charge. Call Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram service and we will confirm NHTSA status for your VIN and advise next steps. If you prefer online scheduling, schedule service and we will run the VIN check when you arrive.
How much does a 2017 Jeep Patriot recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge to the vehicle owner. Kahlo CDJR uses OEM parts and factory-trained technicians to complete recall work at no cost under the manufacturer's recall program. If additional non-recall maintenance is needed, ask about our current service specials and service financing options to pay over time.
Can I get my 2017 Jeep Patriot recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by a certified dealer to ensure OEM parts and factory procedures; Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is a certified franchise dealer for recall work. Independent shops may perform maintenance, but free manufacturer recall remedies are issued through authorized dealers to preserve warranty and safety compliance. To book a free recall appointment, schedule appointment with our factory-trained technicians in Noblesville, IN.
How long does a 2017 Jeep Patriot recall repair take?
Many recall repairs take one to a few hours, although some remedies require parts scheduling and may take longer. For example, OCR module replacement or engine component swaps can vary by parts availability; we will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule service. Kahlo CDJR offers loaner options, quick inspections, and service financing to reduce inconvenience while your recall repair is completed.
Does an open recall affect my 2017 Jeep Patriot's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can lower buyer confidence and potentially reduce trade-in or resale value because buyers and dealers often check NHTSA records. Having recalls repaired at Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram preserves value, protects resale prospects, and shows documented OEM service history for buyers. If you want an immediate value estimate after recall completion, visit our trade-in appraisal page for a quick quote.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2017 Jeep Patriot recall?
Open recalls can cause safety systems to be non-compliant and may affect inspection outcomes depending on local inspection rules. Air bag or engine-stall related recalls that disable safety equipment could lead to failed inspections or additional requirements during title/registration checks. Bring your vehicle to Kahlo CDJR in Noblesville and we will check recalls and complete required repairs free under the manufacturer program to help keep your car inspection-ready.
