Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2017 Jeep Renegade?
The NHTSA has issued 15 recalls affecting the 2017 Jeep Renegade covering components such as trailer hitch fasteners, transmission sensors, rear suspension brackets, software vulnerabilities, backup camera software, fuel pump, engine oil pump/BSM, instrument panel software, electrical control modules, brake calipers, and air bag ORC calibration. These defects range from software vulnerabilities that could allow unauthorized access to vehicle systems to physical parts that may fracture or separate, each of which can increase crash risk. Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Noblesville, IN can verify your vehicle’s status and perform all factory recall repairs free of charge; to book, schedule service.
How do I check if my 2017 Jeep Renegade has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your VIN to our service team — we will check for open recalls at no charge. Provide your 17-digit VIN by phone or online and we will confirm any open items, explain the required remedy, and help you schedule service. We also offer service financing so you can get required repairs done now and pay later.
How much does a 2017 Jeep Renegade recall repair cost?
Recall repairs are performed at no cost to vehicle owners under the manufacturer’s recall program. Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram uses OEM parts, factory-trained technicians, and manufacturer diagnostic tools to complete recalls free of charge, ensuring the repair is done correctly and preserves your warranty and resale value. If you want to combine recall work with other recommended maintenance, ask about our service specials and available service financing.
Can I get my 2017 Jeep Renegade recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recalls must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and the approved remedy are used; a franchise dealer like Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is the recommended and safest choice. Independent shops may perform certain repairs, but only a certified franchise dealer can guarantee recall documentation and direct manufacturer support for complex items such as transmission reprogramming or ORC replacement. Schedule an appointment with our factory-trained team if you need recall work performed correctly and at zero cost: schedule appointment.
How long does a 2017 Jeep Renegade recall repair take?
Repair times vary by recall: software updates or fastener additions may take one hour, while module replacements or fuel pump swaps can take longer — typically the dealer provides a time estimate when you schedule service. Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram prioritizes safety recalls and will provide a clear turnaround time, loaner options, and status updates so you can plan your day. If rush service is needed for safety reasons we will advise immediate drop-off and work with you on alternatives while repairs are completed.
Does an open recall affect my 2017 Jeep Renegade's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can lower trade-in offers and deter private buyers who check NHTSA records during purchase evaluations. Getting recalls corrected at Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram protects your vehicle’s value and provides documented proof the manufacturer remedy was completed using OEM parts. When you’re ready to sell or trade, start at our appraisal page to see how completed recalls preserve value: sell your car online.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2017 Jeep Renegade recall?
Open recalls do not automatically cause inspection failure, but safety-related recalls (like brakes, engine stalls, or air bag ORC issues) can lead to failed inspections or safety advisories depending on state rules. Addressing recalls at our certified dealership ensures your vehicle meets safety standards and reduces the risk of failing state inspections or impacting insurance coverage. If you are concerned about inspection status, contact our service team and schedule service — we also offer service financing and can confirm whether an open recall affects inspection readiness.
