Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2022 Jeep Renegade?
The NHTSA records provided show 15 recall entries affecting Jeep Renegade models covering components such as trailer hitch fasteners, 9-speed transmission wiring, aftermarket rear suspension brackets, multiple software vulnerabilities, rearview/backup camera display software, right rear brake caliper casting, fuel pump failures, powertrain control module voltage regulator chips, oil pump/BSM defects, instrument panel software, and an incorrectly calibrated occupant restraint controller. Those 15 entries identify specific safety risks like separated trailer hitches, unexpected transmission neutral shifts, stalling, reduced braking performance, and possible unintended air bag deployment. All recall repairs listed by the manufacturer are performed free of charge at an authorized dealer like Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Noblesville, IN.
How do I check if my 2022 Jeep Renegade has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring the vehicle to a dealer for a free VIN recall check. Call Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 or use the NHTSA VIN lookup, then contact Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to book a free inspection or schedule service. We also offer information on current offers under service specials and service financing through our finance center if you need flexible payment options.
How much does a 2022 Jeep Renegade recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the vehicle owner when performed under the recall program. Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will perform recall work at no cost using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians; visit our service specials page for any related offers and service financing if you need it for non-recall repairs.
Can I get my 2022 Jeep Renegade recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM procedures and recall records are properly documented and the repair remains free under the manufacturer program. Independent shops cannot guarantee access to manufacturer software updates, OEM diagnostic tools, or official replacement parts required by many recalls; for these reasons Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is the recommended local certified option. To protect your warranty and ensure proper documentation, schedule service with our factory-trained technicians in Noblesville.
How long does a 2022 Jeep Renegade recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall: software updates can be completed in under an hour, while parts replacements may take several hours to a day depending on parts availability. For issues like transmission reprogramming or bumper/brake component replacement, expect longer shop time; we will provide a clear estimate when you schedule appointment. Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram prioritizes quick turnarounds for recall work and offers courtesy options where available—check our service specials for current conveniences.
Does an open recall affect my 2022 Jeep Renegade's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in offers and deter private buyers who check NHTSA records prior to purchase. Having recall repairs documented and completed at an authorized dealer like Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram protects resale value and ensures clear transfer records; for appraisal assistance see our trade-in page. We recommend resolving recalls before selling to maintain buyer confidence and full market value.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2022 Jeep Renegade recall?
Yes — certain recalls that directly affect safety systems (brakes, airbags, lighting, steering) can cause a vehicle to fail inspection in some states. Because recalls can affect safety-critical systems, Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Noblesville advises completing recall repairs promptly to avoid inspection or registration issues. Contact our service team to confirm whether a specific recall could impact your state inspection and to schedule service as needed.

Defect
