8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2023 Jeep Compass?
The NHTSA record set we reviewed lists 16 recall campaigns affecting Jeep Compass models across multiple model years. These recalls address components including steering, seat belts (OCR module), engine components (balance shaft, sensors, oil pump), electrical powertrain control modules, rear brake calipers, front lower control arms, instrument panel brightness, passenger air bag modules, fire extinguishers, owner manuals, halfshafts, and wiper linkages. Although many campaigns reference earlier model years, Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram recommends verifying your 2023 Jeep Compass specifically by VIN to confirm open recalls.
How do I check if my 2023 Jeep Compass has an open recall?
You can check by entering your VIN at NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to us and we will check for free. The NHTSA lookup is authoritative; our factory-trained technicians at Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will also confirm and explain any open campaigns and the required repairs. To have us verify and, if needed, schedule service, use our online scheduler or call our service center in Noblesville, IN. We also offer service financing and OEM parts for any necessary work.
How much does a 2023 Jeep Compass recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge to the vehicle owner under the recall program. At Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram we use OEM parts and factory-trained technicians so the recall remedy is completed at no cost to you. If additional non-recall repairs are requested, we will provide written estimates and offer service financing or current service specials to help manage cost.
Can I get my 2023 Jeep Compass recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by a franchised dealer to ensure OEM parts and factory procedures are used; Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is your local certified Jeep dealer able to complete these free recall repairs. Independent shops cannot always access manufacturer parts, special tools, or official repair instructions that ensure the recall is completed per Chrysler's remedy procedures. For safety and warranty integrity, schedule a recall visit with our certified techs using our schedule service link—repairs are free and documented through the manufacturer.
How long does a 2023 Jeep Compass recall repair take?
Repair times vary by campaign; many inspections or software updates can take under an hour, while part replacements may require a day or more. At Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram we strive for quick turnaround using OEM diagnostic tools and parts; when you schedule appointment we will provide an estimated time based on the specific recall remedy. If a part is not immediately available, we will notify you and offer alternatives such as loaner vehicles or priority scheduling when parts arrive; ask about our service financing if needed.
Does an open recall affect my 2023 Jeep Compass's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively affect resale and trade-in value because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records before purchase. When ready to sell or trade, use our online trade tool at sell your car online and bring recall documentation to maximize your offer.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2023 Jeep Compass recall?
State inspection rules vary, but safety-related recalls (air bags, brakes, steering, engine stall risks) can affect inspection outcomes in some states. Because several recalls in the NHTSA set involve critical systems—air bags, brakes, steering clamps, and engine stall conditions—resolving open recalls at a certified dealer reduces inspection risk. Schedule service at Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Noblesville, IN to ensure recall items are addressed before an inspection; we also list current service specials to help with non-recall maintenance.
