Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2026 Ram 3500?
The NHTSA database shows 21 recall entries affecting the Ram 3500 family covering steering, airbags, electrical/software, equipment, alternator, diesel engine components, headlights, turn signals, engine cover, and instrument cluster concerns. These recalls include steering track-bar weld issues, seat cover interference with thorax airbags, radio software vulnerabilities, overly sensitive side-impact sensor calibrations, alternator failures, diesel fuel-heater connector overheating, and other component issues listed by NHTSA. For a VIN-specific lookup we will check your vehicle against NHTSA records and apply free repairs if needed — to schedule service now with Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
How do I check if my 2026 Ram 3500 has an open recall?
Use your VIN to check recalls on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to our service center for a free VIN check. You can also call manufacturer customer service at 1-800-853-1403 for Chrysler/FCA recall confirmations referenced in NHTSA records. To have a factory-trained technician confirm and apply any remedy, schedule appointment with Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Noblesville, IN.
How much does a 2026 Ram 3500 recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed at no cost to vehicle owners; parts and labor for NHTSA-listed recalls are free under the recall program. At Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram we use OEM parts and factory-trained technicians to complete recall work free of charge. We also offer service financing so you can get related service now and pay later; ask our service advisors about options when you schedule service.
Can I get my 2026 Ram 3500 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by a dealer authorized by the manufacturer to ensure OEM parts and correct procedures are used; a certified franchise dealer is the recommended and safe choice. Independent shops cannot always access manufacturer-supplied parts, software updates, or official remedy instructions; Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is a certified franchise dealer with the required resources. To ensure your recall is remedied properly and remain eligible for warranty/recall protections, schedule service at our Noblesville service center.
How long does a 2026 Ram 3500 recall repair take?
Repair times vary by recall: simple software updates or inspections can take under an hour, while welds, part replacements, or frame work can take several hours to a day. Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram provides time estimates when you arrive and will notify you of any parts availability issues; some campaigns (e.g., alternator parts historically) have had part delays. To reduce wait time, please schedule appointment and check current availability and any applicable service specials before arrival.
Does an open recall affect my 2026 Ram 3500's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can lower buyer confidence and may reduce trade-in or resale value because many dealers and purchasers check NHTSA recall status before purchase. Having recalls completed at a certified dealer like Kahlo CDJR protects vehicle value and shows documented manufacturer repairs performed with OEM parts. If you are preparing to trade, get a free VIN recall check and then visit our trade-in appraisal page at sell-your-car-online.htm after you schedule service.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2026 Ram 3500 recall?
Some recalls affect safety systems that could cause a vehicle to fail inspection if components are inoperable or compromised; unresolved recalls can also complicate inspections depending on state rules. For example, air bag sensor or lighting recalls listed by NHTSA may impact inspection outcomes if the system is triggered or inoperative. Bring your vehicle to Kahlo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Noblesville for a free recall check and prompt, free recall repairs to help ensure your vehicle passes state inspection; you can also review current service specials when you call.
